General responsibilities include: 
Providing medical care by taking vital signs, assessing the patient's injury, illness, document findings, formulate and educate on treatment plans, and perform medical interventions within the RN scope of practice.
The Registered Nurse initiates and supports timely patient flow in the collection and documentation of patient medical history, appropriate medical intervention including coordination of physician medical assessment, physical examination, and occupational medical treatment.

Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following safety standards and procedures. Adheres to the highest standard of confidentiality and ensures that all communication and dialogue is handled in same manner. Accepts responsibility for assisting co-workers, including rotating job duties as needed or assigned. Maintains effective dialogue and communication with peers, leaders, and associates. Ensures that Health Services/Safety leadership remains apprised and updated on pertinent matters requiring their attention.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Provides nursing assessment and recommendations to Employees related to the illness or injury resulting in an initial determination of occupational versus non-occupational mechanism of injury or illness.
• Document and Maintain records related to the treatment of employees in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Administration or similar country/national governing regulations.
• Interact with Workers' Compensation, Safety, and the Company Physician/Provider to facilitate processing of work-related illnesses or injuries.
• Absence management- utilize client's PIIM (post injury and illness management) program by working with client's carrier (work or non-work related) to enable early safe return to work via appropriate and monitored work accommodations.
• Performs regulatory required medical surveillance as indicated by current Occupational Health and Safety Administration or similar country/national standards.
• Perform medical treatment in accordance with training and licensure.
• Completes all documentation and quality checks to reduce chance of omission or errors.
• Participate in Corning Health and Safety Programs.
• Lead and/or participate in plant projects/teams. For example 24/7, Blood borne Pathogen, Flu Shots, Blood Drives, Ergonomics, health maintenance and health education or others as assigned.
• Interact with emergency response team when called upon.
• Work closely with Incident Investigation team to initiate investigations, notifications of injuries, and enter into database.
• Partner with Industrial Hygienist to formalize surveillance plans and medical clearance follow ups.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 3+ years Registered Nurse Experience – Occupational Health Nursing a plus; Emergency room, Intensive Care Unit or Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR Certification
• Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience with general office programs and equipment
• Proven ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to maintain medical confidentiality
• Flexible work schedule including working occasional overtime and Holidays
• Timely and effectively communication as demonstrated through strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional customer service and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with management team in the completion of business goals and strategies
• Core understanding of how to prevent and manage occupation injuries
• PC proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Maintaining and ordering medical supplies/over the counter medications
 

Desired Skills:
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN | COHN-S)
• Prior Experience in fast-pace medical office, clinic, or similar environment
• Strong presentation skills
• Creative in promoting health and safety activities
• Experience with processes related to workers compensation, disability & FMLA
• Understanding of SDS's (safety data sheets) and providing medical recommendations as needed
