Description
Location: Rosenberg Building
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (12/23/2024 – 03/22/2025)
Schedule: 36 hours/week, 12-hour rotating shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), including every other weekend.
- Licensure: Active Massachusetts RN License (required at the time of submission).
- Vaccination: COVID booster and flu vaccine mandatory; only medical exemptions accepted.
- Certifications: CPR (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant neuro ICU/IMCU experience.
- Proficiency with:
- External Ventricular Drains (EVDs).
- Lumbar drains.
- Arterial lines.
- Experience in handling neuro cases such as post-op day-zero surgeries, acute thrombectomies, administration of TPA, and managing vasoactive infusions.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Epic EMR and ability to navigate basic web-based applications.
- Provide patient care in a neuro ICU/IMCU setting, managing a variety of neurological and neurosurgical patients.
- Float between neuro ICU and neuro IMCU as required.
- Patient Population:
- 18 intermediate beds and 18 general neuroscience beds.
- Patients include arterial line monitoring, lumbar drains, EVDs, acute thrombectomies, and day-zero neuro post-op cases.
- Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: 1:3.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Additional Information:
- Rotating day/night shifts require flexibility and adaptability.
- This position demands a high level of clinical competence and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
