Description:
- Tufts CMS is also obligated to ensure that animal care procedures and animal experimentation comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- The Animal Care Technologist is responsible for monitoring health and providing clinical care to laboratory animals in Veterinary Services (VS) The animals are evaluated daily in our large animal housing facility and at a minimum weekly in our rodent and zebrafish colonies at our Boston Campus and per assigned on the Medford campus.
- The technologist will follow the procedures, guidelines, and policies approved by these institutions.
- The Animal Care Technologist will also be responsible for regular training for research investigators, ensuring compliance of animal research, and assist with technical services, as needed.
- The Animal Care Technologist serves on a weekend on-call schedule for animal health and facility emergencies.
- On an as needed basis, the animal care technologist may be assigned to perform health checking or husbandry related tasks on the Medford campus.
