Location: St Petersburg, FL
FT/ Evening Shift 5 days per week 2:30- 11P (rotating weekends)
Compensation:
- On-Call Pay: $2/hr
- Night Differential Pay: $2.50/hr
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist in a clinical or reference lab setting is preferred but NEW GRADUATES are welcome to apply.
Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our hospital-based team in St Petersburg, FL. Our team values patient care and is committed to providing high-quality results. Qualifications:
- A State of Florida Medical Technologist License is required.
- Generalist license (all areas) is required but we will consider applicants licensed in 3 or more of the following areas:
Responsibilities:
- Conduct accurate and timely laboratory testing, following instructions and meeting established time frames
- Assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor
- Maintain complete and accurate records/documentation related to patient results
- Perform urgent procedures within specified turnaround time targets
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills in the correlation and interpretation of patient results, including performing delta checks
- Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating with staff relief
- Take appropriate corrective action when patient, quality control, standard, calibration, and proficiency results deviate from established guidelines
Education:
- Associate's Degree/ Bachelors is required.
- A 4 yr Bachelors Degree in Med technology is preferred.
