Job Summary and QualificationsThis position supports the vision and mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. Under the direction of the Manager of Nurse Staffing, the Clinical Support Resource RN:
- Demonstrates team work, adaptability, and serving as a resource to the patient care team for both adult and pediatric populations as needed.
- Works alongside and under direction of the Nursing Supervisor on shift.
- Provides assistance with performing or troubleshooting specific nursing skills and needs in both adult and pediatric populations.
- Attends rapid responses, codes and all overhead alerts providing assistance within nursing scope of practice.
- Assists with Surge Level One and Surge Level Two in the Emergency Department.
- Performs rounds on each nursing unit, continuously observing, assessing the quality of patient care, and identifying nursing needs.
- Tracks requests to identify most commonly requested skills in both PSL and RMHC.
- Assists staff with difficult, high acuity, and off unit procedures when needed.
- Consistently applies the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently demonstrate and provide safe nursing care to patients in both adult and pediatric populations.
- Collaborates with the patient care team to achieve quality patient outcomes.
- Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement” and promotes a positive image of nursing demonstrating iCARE Values.
- Promotes evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including safety rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET and teach back.
- Escalates concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as appropriate.
- Fosters teamwork and contributes to achievement of team goals in both PSL and RMHC.
- Performs other duties as assigned, consistent with his/her scope of nursing practice and competence
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
- At least two years acute care/specialty nursing is desirable in area of specialty. Experience with both Adult and Pediatric populations.
Special Qualifications:
Demonstrates good organizational skills. Provides safe and appropriate care within the Standards of Nursing practice at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. Demonstrates good critical thinking skills. Displays leadership and problem solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. Able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
