Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Employee Health Nurse (Occupational Health), you will be part of an amazing interdisciplinary team environment. You will plan, develop, implement and evaluate all activities and services relating to the Employee Health Service and Workers’ Compensation Program to provide high quality and cost effective occupational health services to employees, volunteers, and physicians.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will coordinate all clinical aspects of Employee Health services including assessment and treatment of employee injuries/illnesses, post-offer screening, occupational testing and surveillance programs, employee infection control.
  • You will work cooperatively with other staff in the investigation, monitoring, tracking and follow-up of employee injuries and health and safety issues in the work environment.
  • You will provide triage for on-the-job injuries.
  • You will oversee and direct the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients.
  • You will be a strong employee health resource and be involved with teaching, counseling and participation in presentations.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
  • BLS- Healthcare provider from AHA or American Red Cross.
  • Certification or eligibility as a certified occupational health nurse preferred.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s license.
  •  Associates Degree/Diploma in nursing or other health related field required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other health related field preferred, or equivalent experience in EH would take the place of a degree. Advanced degree (MSPH, MSN< NP or other) preferred.
  • Five to seven years medical/surgical nursing required.
  • Previous occupational health nursing and workers’ compensation experience preferred.
  • Experience in emergency department, orthopedic nursing, case management desirable.
