Job Details

• Specialty: Vascular Access RN
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shifts: 1300-0130
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Occasional
• Floating Requirements: No
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy scrubs preferred

Qualifications

• Experience Required: 2 years of experience as a Vascular Access RN
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Active RN License in Washington
  • VA-BC certification preferred
  • Pending license acceptable (temp license takes approximately 4 weeks)

Skills and Responsibilities

• Strong peripheral IV skills
• Ability to place ultrasound IVs
• Access ports and perform central line dressing changes
• Maintain a sterile field
• Strong preference for PICC and midline placement skills
• Dedicated IV therapy position providing vascular access assessment and care, including:

  • Peripheral IVs
  • Ultrasound guided PIVs
  • Midline placement
  • PICC line placement
  • Port access
  • Central line dressing changes
  • IV troubleshooting

Additional Information

• Unit: IV Therapy Department – Vascular Access RN
• Nurse Ratios: 2 RNs scheduled on dayshift
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Hospital supervisor on duty 24/7
• Orientation: Will orient to IV therapy department and workflows
