Position Details

Shift Information

• Typical Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Weekend Requirement: One working weekend shift per month
• Holiday Requirement: Expected to work every other holiday

Qualifications

• Certifications Required:

  • NBSTSA certification at the time of submission
  • AHA BLS certification
  • NCCT accepted (verification required at time of submission)

• Education: Degree must be from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program with a Surgical Technology major.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of OR experience in an acute care facility
  • Strong orthopedic skills, specifically able to perform total joint cases independently
  • Vascular experience in both hybrid and open surgical cases

Equipment Proficiency

• Familiarity with specialty equipment including:

  • Infusion pumps
  • Ultrasound machines
  • Laparoscopic Olympus Equipment
  • da Vinci Robot
  • Rosa Robot
  • Monarch Robot (specialized, not expected)
  • SCDs
  • Bair Hugger
  • Microscopes
  • Neptune
  • Smoke evacuators

Additional Responsibilities

• Expected to assist the RN in overturning the OR room (cleaning, prepping, and mopping) if needed.

Local Candidates

• The facility will accept local candidates for this position.

Orientation

• Eight hours of non-billable orientation required.

Cancellation Policy

• The facility can call off up to 3 shifts for a 13-week contract and 2 shifts for contracts shorter than 13 weeks.
