Job Overview: Cardiac Invasive Tech (Cath Lab Tech)

Location

City: Monterey, California
Facility: Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula

Contract Details

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
On Call: 5-7 days a month, usually 1 weekend (tentative)

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - American Heart Association Provider certification (must be obtained prior to completion of orientation)
CA Fluoroscopy license
RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification
Verification as a Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (R)

Additional Information

Facility Policy: Nicotine-free facility, included in drug screen
Education Requirement: Must pass the Arrhythmia Interpretation/Telemetry test at 85% prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment of telemetry/monitored patients (tested annually thereafter).

Job Duties

Perform procedures in the Cath Lab, including PCI, pacemaker insertions, STEMI interventions, and TAVR/Watchman procedures.
Experience with common diagnoses and types of patients is preferred.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty; structural experience preferred but not required.

Equipment and EMR

Preferred EMR: Epic (for nurses and techs)
Equipment: McKesson, Philips, Siemens

Unit/Department Orientation

Orientation provided Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
