Job Description

Shift: Nights
Weekend Requirement: Expected to work every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Expected to work every other holiday
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Location Restrictions: The facility does not accept local RN candidates within 75 miles.
Unit Type: Medical Step Down/Pulmonary Unit
Skills and Responsibilities:
- Invasive monitoring
- New/Rescue/Continuous NIPPV (Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation)
- New tracheostomies
- Ventilator management with ETT (Endotracheal Tube)
- Transvenous pacing
Floating: Expected to float to other units if needed
Orientation: Eight hours of non-billable orientation
Shift Cancellation Policy: Facility can call off up to 3 shifts for a 13-week contract and 2 shifts for contracts shorter than 13 weeks.

If you get cancelled for low census, your food and housing stipend will not be paid for that shift and will be deducted from your paycheck, so if you work somewhere with low census you may want to look into an agency that doesn't do this.
