Job Description

  • The position requires a traveler with 2 years of PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care experience.
  • The traveler will be placed on a unit based on the greatest need, which may include PCU or Med/Surg/Tele units.
  • The traveler must be willing to float onsite within their skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed.

Required Credentials

  1. Ascension Specialty Exam

    • Required for Onboarding
    • Must be completed prior to the first assignment and updated every 3 years.
    • Minimum 80% passing score.
  2. BLS (Basic Life Support)

    • Required for Onboarding.
  3. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

    • Required for Onboarding.
  4. Nursys Verification

    • Required for Submission (within 30 days prior to start).
  5. License/Certificate Verification

    • Required for Submission (current license verification within 30 days prior to start).
  6. Ascension Color Vision

    • Required for Onboarding (completed prior to start and updated every 3 years).
  7. Ascension Core Competencies

    • Required for Onboarding (completed within a year of start and updated yearly).
  8. NIH Certification

    • Required for Onboarding (updated every 2 years).
  9. Ascension EKG Exam

    • Required for Onboarding (must achieve a passing score of at least 80%).
  10. MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

    • Required for Onboarding (documented proof of vaccination or positive IGG titer).
  11. Fit Test

    • Required for Onboarding (updated annually).
  12. Hepatitis B

    • Required for Onboarding (documentation of vaccination series completion).
  13. Influenza Vaccine

    • Required for Onboarding (documentation required for flu season).
  14. Health Statement

    • Required for Onboarding (statement of good health or completed physical exam).
  15. 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot)

    • Required for Onboarding (documentation of TB testing).
  16. Varicella

    • Required for Onboarding (documented proof of vaccination or immunity).
  17. Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)

    • Required for Onboarding (valid for 10 years).
  18. Ascension Profile

    • Required for Submission (resume or profile).
  19. Ascension 2 Professional References

    • Required for Submission (at least two professional references).
  20. Ascension Criminal Background Check Results

    • Required for Onboarding.
  21. Ascension EPLS (Exclusion Provider List System)

    • Required for Onboarding.
  22. Ascension Skills Checklist

    • Required for Onboarding (clinical skills checklist).
  23. Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen

    • Required for Onboarding (within 30 days prior to start).
  24. Ascension Badge Photo

    • Required for Onboarding (forward-facing headshot).
  25. Ascension Education Verification

    • Required for Onboarding (verification of education relevant to clinical work).
  26. Ascension Confirmation of Assignment

    • Required for Onboarding (provide upon initial assignment).

If you get cancelled for low census, your food and housing stipend will not be paid for that shift and will be deducted from your paycheck, so if you work somewhere with low census you may want to look into an agency that doesn't do this.
