Position Details

General Information

• Beds: 13 ORs; All General use
• Minimum Experience Required: 2 years of OR specific experience
• First-time Travelers Accepted: Yes (must be separated for 1 year if previously a permanent staff)

Patient Types and Required Experience

• Patient Types:

  • Robotic
  • Bariatric
  • Neuro-Spine
  • Neuro Vascular
  • Urology
  • Transplants

• Required Case Types:

  • Robotics (Davinci) – experience required
  • Neuro Spine / Neuro Vascular: Robotic - Laminectomy, Fusion, Discectomy, Craniotomies, Aneurysm clipping
  • General surgeries: Lap Chole, Nephrectomy, Whipple
  • Bariatric: Roux-en-Y, gastric sleeve
  • Urology: Cystos, TURPs, bladder tumor resection, stone removal
  • Transplant (strongly preferred) – kidney, liver, pancreas
  • Cardio/Thoracic experience (strongly preferred)

Roles and Responsibilities

• Registered Nurse (RN):

  • Circulate and may scrub if experienced (not required)
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS
  • Must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival

• Surgical Technologist (ST):

  • Experience with above-mentioned case types
  • Certifications: BLS (national certification not required)

• First Assist (SA):

  • Experience with above-mentioned case types
  • Certifications: BLS, CSFA or CSA certification required; if RN FA, requires ACLS

Work Schedule

• Shift Times:

  • 0630-1500
  • 1045-1915
• Weekend Rotation:

  • One weekend day per week (Saturday as needed)
  • On-call 1 weekend/month
• Flexibility: Mandatory; traveler must confirm shift with agency prior to accepting

Additional Information

• Call Requirements:

  • One day per week from 1500-0630
  • 1 weekend/month from Friday 1500 to Monday 0630
• Holiday Expectations: Holiday rotation for call coverage is needed
• Team Structure:

  • General Team: 1 RN; 1 scrub
  • Neuro Team: 1 RN; 1 scrub
  • Transplant Team: 1 RN; 1 scrub tech; 2 scrub techs for liver transplant
