A hospital near Sacramento is looking for an experienced Home Health Speech Therapist for a travel contract.
The right candidate will have 2 years of experience.

Job requirements

Hold an active BLS certification.
Hold a CCC-SLP certification.
Hold a California License.
Need 2 supervisory references at submittal; 1 within 12 months and 1 within 3 years worked.

Schedule information

M-F 0830-1700
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with Core staff.

Unit specific information

Department specific orientation: 2 weeks
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color scrubs or business casual street clothing.

Additional Details

Modules are required to be done before start of assignment. Modules take on average 6 hours to complete.

# of patients treated per day: 4
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Dysphagia, Dysphasia, Cognitive. Adult patients with chronic disease, CVA. Restorative Cognitive and Speech skills.
Acute Inpatient, Acute Rehab, Skilled, Outpatient?: Home Health.
Experience or 'Must have' skills & common job duties: Performing and utilizing standardized speech tools. Experience with adult home health or similar clinical setting. Swallow evaluations.
Mileage paid per GSA guidelines.

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
