Job details

A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ICU nurse for a travel contract.
The right candidate will have 3 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and CA License.

Job requirements

3 full years of experience
Active BLS certification
Active ACLS certification
Active NIHSS certification
Active California License
CERNER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Schedule information

12-hour shifts; 7a - 7:30p / 7p - 7:30a
Every other weekend or equivalent of 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule

Unit specific information

Basic EKG interpretation test assigned during orientation.
Critical care RNs (ED/ICUs/PICU) will have more than just the basic interpretation test.
Nurses must participate in multidisciplinary rounds.

Additional Details

Certs: BLS & ACLS & NIHSS are required.
No first-time travelers accepted.
No duos allowed.

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
