- A hospital in Sacramento is looking for experienced Oncology RN for a travel contract.
- The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and CA License.

Job requirements
- 12 hr shifts. 7 - 730.
- Report is at the bedside.
- OT and extra shifts are available.
- Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
- Schedules are out 4 weeks.
Schedule information
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Oncology patient population with general MedSurg overflow.
- Floating to all other Sacramento facilities.
- Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
- Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
Unit specific information
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Med Solutions prescreens/auto offer & manager has 24 hrs to rescind.
- Need 2 supervisory references (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 within 12 months & 1 within 3 years worked.
- Modules are required before start. Modules take 3-4 hours - not billable.
- ***PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYS EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE. MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 24-48 HRS. IT’S PASS OR FAIL AND THEY GET 2 ATTEMPTS***.
- A screenshot showing the number of attempts is required.
- **We can accept the Relias basic Dys exam within the last 12 months if the traveler has previously taken.**
- If your traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for CommonSpirit AZ and Sac.

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
