    Job details
  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced L/D nurse for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience.
    Job requirements
  • 2 full years of experience as an L/D nurse
  • Experience with high-risk patients, multiple births, insulin gtts, mag drips
  • Experience with C-sections, both assisting and recovering
  • Must be comfortable taking 2 patients as per ACOG Guidelines
  • Experience with a fast, busy unit and the ability to deliver over 300 babies per month
    Schedule information
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shifts/Hours: 12 hours; 7a - 7p/7p - 7a
  • Breaks: 1/2 hour break (clock-out); 3 - 15 min breaks per shift (CA Law)
  • Weekends: Usually every other weekend (same as perm staff)
    Unit specific information
  • Unit: L & D
  • Unit Guidelines/Policies: Strict adherence to ACOG guidelines and facility protocols
  • No elective abortions performed
  • Level 3 almost level 4 NICU available for high-risk deliveries
    Additional Details
  • **CERNER IS REQUIRED!**
  • # beds: 12 L & D and 6 triage beds
  • Ratios: Per ACOG Guidelines (2:1)
  • Unit Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit
  • Charge Nurse availability
  • Tele: Post-surgery only for the hour post-surgery C-section
  • RT 24/7
  • Pharmacy 24/7

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
