Job details

General Information: Number of ORs: 4 OR’S and 1 Endoscopy Suite. Staff will rotate through PreOp and PACU (Phase 1 & Phase 2) areas. Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? Yes. Case Types include GYN, General, Robotics (Bariatric, Prostate, Hernia, Gallbladder, Hysterectomy), Urology, Ortho, Ortho/Spine, Podiatry, Plastics, Cataracts, ENT, ENDO (Colon, EGD, ERCP, Bronchoscopy). Patient Ratio varies.
EMR: Epic
IV pumps: Alaris
Medication dispensing: Omnicell
Orientation: 3 orientation days

Schedule information

Shift: 11a-11p
Pre-op: 1:3 or 1:4, depending on acuity
Phase 1: 1:2
Phase I2: 1:4
Weekend rotation
On call requirement: Friday night and weekend call; approximately every 8-10 weekends
Holiday Expectations will be discussed during the interview
RTO: Manager approval
Shift times vary based on need
Schedule cycle: every 8 weeks
Scrub Color is provided

Cons

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
