Job details

Winneshiek Medical Center (dba WinnMed) is seeking a full-time contract for a Surgical Technologist in the Surgery Department for 13 weeks minimum. Surgical Technologists are responsible for providing technical assistance during surgical procedures, and have knowledge of and utilize appropriate protocols relating to scrubbing and assisting in surgery of patients of all ages. Surgery Includes: General, Orthopedics, ENT, OBGYN, Podiatry, Urology, Dental.

Job requirements

State of Iowa Mandatory reporter training
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
Surgical Technologist Certification preferred
Must stay within 30 minutes of WinnMed when on-call

Schedule information

Position is primarily 8 hour shifts Monday - Friday, 7:00a - 3:30 pm.
Hours may fluctuate slightly based on surgery case load (as early as 6:00am).
Position includes on-call rotation, approximately 1 night per every 2 week pay period, and every 5th to 6th weekend.
Holiday Call rotation included.

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
