Job details

A hospital in Washington is looking for an experienced L&D RN for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience.

Job requirements

Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, and WA License. Pending license needed to submit. Temp license takes approximately 4 weeks.
High Risk OB/Triage/OR circulating, surgical admission and recovery experience.

Schedule information

12 hour shifts (7a-7:30p)
Weekend Requirement: Yes
Holiday Requirement: Yes
Call or standby requirement: Yes

Experience or 'Must have' skills: High Risk OB/Triage/OR circulating, surgical admission and recovery
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin and Insulin
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge nurse
Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? CNAs and Surgical techs
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Yes for NICU
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? No

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
