Certification details
- PCU/MS/ED Hold-Float Pool
- This position will be hospital float pool staff and will be expected to float throughout the hospital. Nurses in this role will be caring for post surgical, medical, PCU stepdown on IP units and ER as hold patients.
- Competencies for these services as well as critical drips will be expected.
- Ratios are 1:4-1:6 depending on patient acuity.
- Vent management, intensive/critical care and ED experience PREFERRED so RN can be utilized fully as a float pool staff member
Job details
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years - Unit doesn't accept first time travelers
- PATIENT POPULATION: Adults to Geriatrics
- RATIO: 1:4-1/6
- UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, EPIC & SBAR
- Must have experience: Cardiac drips, TR band removal and Bipap usage
Job requirements
- 8 Week Holiday Incentive for 36 or 48hrs options
- Available to work Christmas Eve (12/24), Christmas Day (12/25), New Year's Eve (12/31), and New Year’s Day (1/1)
- WEEKENDS: Every Other
- FLOATING: Within facility and to sister campus if needed

- UNIT DESCRIPTION: Hospital float pool staff expected to float throughout the hospital, caring for various patient populations.

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
