    Certification details
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS required.
    Job details
  • Endoscopy specialty nurses needed.
  • Travel contract opportunity.
  • The right candidate will have 2 years of experience.
  • M-F schedule with 8-10 procedures per day.
  • Nurse will work 8 hour shifts with varied start between 0530-0900, will be scheduled 4 weeks in advance with start time.
    Job requirements
  • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, and CA License.
  • Require Dignity Health's procedure sedation class.
  • At least 1 year in Endo.
  • ERCP experience is a MUST.
    Schedule information
  • 8 hour shifts with varied start between 0530-0900.
  • Scheduled 4 weeks in advance.
  • Call coverage is M-F 1730 - 0630; 24 hours on weekends/holidays.
  • At minimum one weekend/month & two M-F night calls.
    Unit specific information
  • Unit: Endoscopy/Procedural Care Unit.
  • Cases: 8-10 procedures/day.
  • EMR: Cerner.
  • Charge Nurse: Yes.
  • Nurse Aides: Endo techs to help turn over the room.
  • Weekend Requirement: One call weekend/month.
  • Holidays: One call holiday during contract.
  • Scrub Color: Provided.
  • Tele: Phillips.
  • RT 24/7: Yes.
  • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes.
  • Floating: OP surgery center or Pre/post-surgical inpatient area.
  • Floor specific orientation: 2 days on floor with a preceptor.
  • Common diagnosis/Types of patients: polypectomy, foreign body, colonoscopy, endoscopy, EGD with dilation, Barrett's esophagus treatment.
  • 8hr Days M-F + required call overnights and weekends
    Additional Details
  • Modules are required to be done before the start of the assignment.
  • Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete and the time is not billable.
  • DYS EXAM (BASIC) through UNA is required along with acceptance.

Cons

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
