    Job details
  • The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions.
  • The RN is a critical member of the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) which cares for over 4000 cardiology patients annually; procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip and bi-ventricular pacemakers.
  • Approximately 300 open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op) are discharged from this unit.
  • The CVU also specializes in the care of patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies.
  • Our NISUS research department manages many national clinical trials using CVU.
  • The CVU has been awarded a Silver level Beacon Award in 2014 and was redesigned in 2017 by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
  • The leadership, medical staff, and colleagues together as a team demonstrate top performance in care, efficiency, and community value.
    Job requirements
  • 1+ year of experience.
  • Proficiency in Cardiac.
  • Travel required.
  • EKG comfortability.
  • Must be willing to float to similar units.
  • Health system-wide profile standards.
  • Michigan license verification is required for nurses.
  • Physical copies of certifications are only required in the profile if listed.

  • The Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) cares for over 4000 cardiology patients annually.
  • The unit manages 300 open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op) discharges.
  • It specializes in the care of patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies.
    Additional Details
  • McLaren Northern has incorporated a strict 3 strike attendance policy.
  • A skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required.
  • Full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
