- A hospital in California is looking for an experienced PT for a travel assignment.
- The right candidate will have 3+ years of experience, with at least 2 years in Acute Care or Inpatient Rehab.
Job details
- Experienced PT with 3+ years of experience.
- At least 2 years of Acute Care or Inpatient Rehab experience.
- Must hold an active BLS and CA license.
- 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Experience with ortho, neuro, and cardiac required.
- ICU experience preferred.
- Experience with physical disabilities preferred.
Job requirements
- 8 hr shifts, hours are varied, start at 6:30 am people staying until 6:30 pm with a 30 min lunch break.
- Every other Sat or Sun, 2 weekend days in a 4 week schedule.
- Willingness to work all weekends preferred, will have a day off during the week on the weeks they work a weekend.
Schedule information
- Certs: BLS.
- EMR: Cerner.
- Unit: Rehab Therapies, Cardiac Rehab.
- Shifts: 8 hr shifts.
- Floating: Float between units of hospital and to acute rehab.
- Floor specific orientation: 1 day hospital orientation and then 2-3 days of unit orientation.
- Additional Notes: Speech must be able to do bedside swallow, experience with modified barium swallow studies preferred, must be able to do cognition.

- Unit: Rehab Therapies, Cardiac Rehab.
- Spanish speaking candidates preferred.
- Experience in OP or home health preferred.

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
