Job details

A hospital in Arizona is looking for experienced nurses for a travel contract for their MS/Tele float pool. The right candidate will have 2+ years of current tele experience, an active BLS, ACLS and AZ license or compact. Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting (2 max attempts) and will take a pass/fail Sim lab on day 1 of orientation.

Schedule information

Shifts: 12 hr shifts. 7-7.

Unit specific information

CV Tele B3A, A3 Neuro, MedSurg C5, MedSurg B2C - units with various patient care specializations such as post-cath lab, post-vascular procedures, neuro post-surgical, spine, CVAs post-TPA, general tele, surgical, oncology, and general MedSurg patients

Additional Details

Travelers will float between all Tele and MedSurg units
Staffing the observation floor first, then other units as needed
Floating includes between Chandler & Mercy Gilbert campuses
Notification of campus and unit given 1.5 hrs prior to shift start
Floating to different units mid-shift can happen
Distance between the 2 campuses is 9 miles, all interstate

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
