Certification details
- A hospital in Arizona is looking for experienced nurses for a travel contract for their MS/Tele float pool.
- The right candidate will have 2+ years of current tele experience, an active BLS, ACLS, and AZ license or compact.
- TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO TITRATE DRIPS!!
- There will be frequent floating to the sister facility, Mercy Gilbert.
- Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting (2 max attempts) and will take a pass/fail Sim lab on day 1 of orientation.
- COVID vaccine is required or declination form with supporting documentation from clergy or MD.
Job details
- 2+ years of current tele experience
- Active BLS, ACLS, and AZ license or compact
- Ability to titrate cardiac drips
- Pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (WITH 2 MAX ATTEMPTS)
Job requirements
- Shifts: 12 hr shifts. 7-7.
- Floating is required.
Schedule information
- Unit: CV Tele B3A, A3 Neuro, MedSurg C5, MedSurg B2C
- Ratios: Generally 1:3-4
- Charge Nurse: Yes, no patient assignment.
- Techs: PCTs - 1 per every 16 patients.
- Weekend Requirement: Varies depending on the unit.
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Tele: Centralized tele. RNs must be able to interpret EKGs.
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Varies, some units have hospitalist rounds during the day and on call at night.
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Varies by unit such as: post cath lab, post vascular procedures, day 2 CABG patients, general tele, Neuro post surgical, post cranis, spine, CVAs post TPA, General MedSurg patients that require tele.
Unit specific information
- COVID vaccine is required or declination form with supporting documentation from clergy or MD
- **Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (WITH 2 MAX ATTEMPTS), within 48 hours of offer.
- **There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions).
- If traveler fails Sim, they will be sent home and made a DNU
- ***Will float between all Tele and MedSurg units****

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
