- ONS Chemotherapy Cert – preferred
- Travelers are allowed to hang chemo if they have chemotherapy certification through the Oncology Nursing Society
Certification details
- 16 inpatient beds
- 1 year of general nursing experience
- First-time traveler can be accepted if having more than 1 year of experience
- Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
- Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
- PCU/IMC RN needed – this is a mixed acuity unit meaning there will be Intermediate Care acuity as well as Tele and MedSurg
- Patients include surgical, new diagnosis, Oncology complications, medical overflow
- Intermediate level of care with telemetry monitoring
- Patients receiving prolonged chemotherapy infusions (multiple days)
- TPE patients (based on staffing availability)
Job details
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Comfortability to work with MedSurg assignments – decline if not agreeable
- IMC/PCU level experience required
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Titratable vasoactive drips
- Proficient in chest ports
Job requirements
- RN – 1:4, Days & Nights
- Weekend rotation – Yes, every other
- No call required
- Holiday Expectations: Available to work holiday during contract; 2/4 major holidays
- Approval of time off for up to 1.5 weeks – must extend contract to accommodate a full 13-week contract
- No RTO during the first 3 weeks of August annually (Sturgis Bike Rally)
Schedule information
- If floating, potential areas include Any Adult Inpatient Unit - Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, and Observation
- Floated nurses will be within the scope of practice and below
- Travelers will float in rotation with other travelers
Unit specific information
- Orientation includes both facility – Monument Health traveler orientation and online education
- Unit orientation – 2 orientation shifts with qualified preceptor from the department
- Navy blue scrub color
- Free parking available
- Monthly audits for Pre/Post pain scoring – Must meet 90% compliance with audits

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
