Job details

Specialty in ED Holds/Tele.

Job requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience - must be recent, within the past 6 months.
Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer, through RELIAS, only (with 2 MAX attempts).
PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions.)
Must have a strong cardiac tele background, preferably 2 years.
Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters.
Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical.
Nurses must be able to read & interpret strips.

Schedule information

12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a).
Ability to self-schedule; however, this could change.
4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule.
Rotate in with the perm staff holiday requirement.
No call required.

Unit specific information

Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 shifts orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus.

Additional Details

ACLS, BLS required.
Nurses will be caring for ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele.
May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration.
Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment.

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
