Job details

Registered Nurse position available at Johnson City Medical Center within the Cardiovascular Medicine specialty in Johnson City, Tennessee. 36/48 schedule with rotation requirement for weekends and holidays. Expectation for travelers to float as needed. Initial orientation begins online with CBLs on Sundays. Clinical nursing student education is part of the role.
Responsibilities also include actively participating in nursing student support and clinical education.

Job requirements

AHA BLS required, AHA ACLS preferred, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification. Traveler must have a permanent residence more than 100 miles from the hospital service area.

Schedule information

36/48 rotating schedule, including floating, rotating weekends, and holidays. Facility may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty if there is a decrease in census.

Additional Details

16 hours of nonbillable orientation included in confirmation. Contract requires active participation in nursing student education. The hospital can flex additional overtime shifts as needed for census changes.

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
