Job details

A hospital in Arizona is looking for experienced nurses for a travel contract for their MS/Tele float pool. The right candidate will have 2+ years of current tele experience and will be proficient at titrating drips. There is frequent floating to the sister facility, Mercy Gilbert. Orientation includes a dysrhythmia exam and a pass/fail Sim lab.

Job requirements

2+ years of current tele experience
Pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting
Ability to titrate cardiac drips
Expected to pass/pass fail Sim lab on day 1 of orientation

Schedule information

Shifts: 12 hr shifts. 7-7
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per 4 week period
Floating is required between Chandler & Mercy Gilbert campuses

Unit specific information

Ratios: 1:3-4 for Tele units, 1:4 for MedSurg units
Tele B3A and A3 Neuro are telemetry-equipped units
C5 and B2C are mainly surgical with some oncology, no chemotherapy
B2C is the 'new grad training unit'

Additional Details

COVID vaccine is required or declination form with supporting documentation
Study guides will be provided with first day instructions
Frequent floating includes ICU, Cardiac Tele, as well as all Tele units, MedSurg

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
