Job details

A hospital in Arizona is looking for experienced nurses for a travel contract for their MS/Tele float pool. The right candidate will have 2+ years of current tele experience, an active BLS, ACLS and AZ license or compact. TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO TITRATE DRIPS!! There will be frequent floating to the sister facility, Mercy Gilbert. Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting (2 max attempts) and will take a pass/fail Sim lab on day 1 of orientation. COVID vaccine is required or declination form with supporting documentation from clergy or MD.

Job requirements

2+ years of current tele experience
Active BLS, ACLS
Active AZ license or compact
Ability to titrate drips
Pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (WITH 2 MAX ATTEMPTS)
Pass/fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation

Schedule information

Shifts: 12 hr shifts. 7-7

Unit specific information

Float to ICU, Cardiac Tele, Tele units, MedSurg, and various holding areas
Will float between all Tele and MedSurg units
Floor specific orientations are provided
Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Post cath lab, post vascular procedures, day 2 CABG patients, general tele, Neuro post surgical, post cranis, spine, CVAs post TPA, General MedSurg patients

Visit sister facilities
Pass dysrhythmia exam and Sim lab on orientation
Floating to various units required
COVID vaccine required or valid declination

My review isn’t about the recruiter at all. The position for Rochester, NY psychiatry, I don’t recommend this position. It turns into 60 hours of straight pay, they take advantage of their travelers, no weekends off, 5-6 days a week depending on when they want to put you on call. They schedule you 5 days a week to tell you it’s only 4 however your agency will pay you for the 60 hours, which isn’t what anyone signs up for. They don’t tell you that you have to work 60 hours of on call until you get there. You will work 5-6 days a week here.
