POSITION SUMMARY:

RN is a registered nurse with generalknowledge in areas such as IV administration, wound care, case management,within the scope of the RN standards of practice.

This position description is intendedto identify some of the duties and responsibilities of this position. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   Graduateof an accredited school of nursing.

2.    Current licensure in good standing inthe state of California.

3.    Maintainscurrent CPR certification.

4.    ACLSrequired within one year of hire date.

SpecificCompetencies:

1.    Demonstratesproficiency in accurate assessment, prevention, identification, documentationand care planning/recommendation of appropriate interventions for skin andwound/ostomy care of acute, long-term care, and outpatients.

2.   Acts as a resource person for nursing staffwith regard to patients skin/wound/ostomy care needs.

3.   Demonstrates proficiency in accurateidentification, access, assessment and care, documentation, and care planningfor all types of venous access devices, including but not limited to peripheralIVs, PICC, V.A.D., Central Venous Catheters.

4.   Is knowledgeable, and demonstrates competencyregarding IV infusion protocols for a variety of medications including but notlimited to antibiotics, blood, and blood products such as immunoglobulin.

5.   Demonstrates competency in properadministration of IM/SQ injections.
