Inova Health System’s Fairfax Hospital is looking for a Clinical Educator Nursing Simulation to join our Center for Advance Medical Simulation (ICAMS) Team. This role is full-time, M-F.

Clinical Educator:
The Clinical Educator of Nursing utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals. Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members. Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them. Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.
Simulation Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and various stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver simulation-based educational programs to maintain and improve staff knowledge, skill development, teamwork, and safety in support of Inova Health System goals and strategic initiatives. Coaches team members in simulation facilitation.
- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of medical/healthcare simulation and Health Care Systems Standards of Best Practices (HSSOBP ™).
- Demonstrates leadership traits and acts as a positive role model for staff.
- Supports change within the organization.
- Travels to Inova care sites to facilitate simulation-based education and coach /teach healthcare educators.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Schedule: Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs). Hybrid-mobile and remote
- Location: Inova Fairfax Medical Campus; will travel to all 5 Inova facilities as needed
- Education: Master's Degree in Nursing, HealthCare, Education and/or other relevant field
- Experience: Two (2) years of progressive experience in Nursing/Clinical Specialty; at least 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
- Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Specialty Certification in area related to unit's clinical scope within one year of hire; Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse; Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, CHSE preferred but not required
