We are seeking an energetic, patient-centered Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor for our Women’s Medicine Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus! Our brand new, 30-bed unit is located in the Inova Women’s Hospital, the only dedicated women’s hospital in Northern Virginia. On this unit, you will see a variety of women’s general medicine patients. The Women’s Medicine Unit is a sister unit to our nationally recognized Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit. Our usual nurse to patient ratio is four or five patients to one RN.
Sign-On/Relocation Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.
Schedule: Full time nights:7pm-7am (3x12 hour shifts per week)

Patients on this unit include:
• General medicine
• Sickle Cell patients
• End of life
• Telemetry and continuous Pulse Oximetry monitoring
• Laparoscopic surgery
• Surgical overflow from the Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit
The Inova Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor:
• Front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unit; embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes.
• Role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making Patient Experience a priority on unit(s) of responsibility. Seeks every opportunity to meet the unique needs of each person we are privileged to serve-every time, every touch. Ensures that care is patient-centered.
• Continually pursues activities that will ensure smooth clinical operations/flow and compliance with Inova's goals of providing safe, equitable, patient-centered, timely, efficient and effective care in a holistic and evidence-based practice environment. Values and promotes collegial working relationships within and among disciplines.

Required Experience: At least one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.

Minimum Education Requirement:
Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:
o Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
o Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
o Specialty certification (as required by the unit) within one year of hire.
o Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days of employment
