Orientation and Mobility Specialist jobs for the 2024/2025 School Year are now open across the Hagerstown area.

American Medical Staffing is currently seeking an Orientation and Mobility Specialist for school-based contract positions throughout the Hagerstown area for the 24/25 school year.

• Pay Rate: $63-$78 per hour
• Schedule: Monday-Friday – no call, no weekends, no holidays
• Hours: School bell hours, approximately 35 hours per week
• Contract: 2024/2025 school year with optional summer school
• Located In: Hagerstown, MD
• Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST have relevant experience in pediatrics or schools as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist. MUST be Nationally Certified as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist and willing to obtain MD licensure.

We are seeking a certified Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist to support students with visual impairments in developing safe navigation and independence skills. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, creating and implementing individualized O&M plans, teaching travel techniques (e.g., cane usage, environmental awareness), and collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to promote accessibility and inclusion. The ideal candidate has experience working with visually impaired students, knowledge of assistive technology, and a commitment to fostering independence in educational and community settings.
