American Medical Staffing is currently seeking a Private Duty LPN for school-based contract positions throughout the St. Louis area for the 24/25 school year.

LPN – Private Duty Job Details:
  • Pay Rate: $21-$31 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday – no call, no weekends, no holidays
  • Hours: School bell hours, approximately 35 hours per week
  • Contract: 2024/2025 school year with optional summer school
  • Located In: St. Louis, MO
  • Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST be licensed as an LPN and willing to obtain MO licensure. Relevant pediatric experience preferred, but not required.

As a Private Duty LPN in schools, you’ll deliver consistent, high-quality nursing care to a child in a school setting. These patients typically require dedicated nursing care and management due to chronic or terminal conditions—and you’ll ensure they can learn and engage in a class setting while having their health needs met. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring the student’s vitals and symptoms—administering medication and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
  • Providing skilled nursing care to the student in the classroom, including medication management and helping with feeding/hygiene Monitoring progress and response to treatment, collaborating with the care team on medical needs and changes, and supporting the student as needed to achieve desired outcomes Providing emotional support to students and families coping with medical concerns Those who choose to practice as a Private Duty LPN typically enjoy the freedom to work independently, as well as the bonds they make with the child, their family, and their teachers.
