Key Responsibilities for the MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse Role

As a MedSurg/Telemetry RN, your responsibilities will include:

Monitoring Patient Conditions: Oversee and interpret telemetry data, including heart rhythms and vital signs, to detect abnormalities and respond accordingly.
Administering Medication and Treatment: Safely administer medications, IVs, and other treatments as prescribed, while monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions.
Collaborating with Healthcare Teams: Work with physicians, specialists, and other medical professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to ensure a smooth recovery process.
Handling Admissions and Discharges: Facilitate smooth patient admissions and discharges, ensuring all documentation is accurate and comprehensive.
Providing Charge Nurse Leadership: Act as a charge nurse during shifts, providing leadership, delegating tasks, and ensuring unit operations run smoothly.
Performing Wound Care and Catheter Management: Provide care for surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, and other conditions, including catheter maintenance.
Emergency Response: Quickly recognise and respond to emergency situations, such as cardiac arrest or sudden changes in patient status.
Requirements for the MedSurg/Telemetry RN Role

To qualify for this position, applicants must have:

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Certifications
Charge Nurse Experience
OH RN License
2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry experience
