Job Summary and Qualifications

The Valve Clinic Registered Nurse facilitates seamless care from referral through follow up. This position plans, coordinates and facilitates the care of the structural heart patient according to established national standards and practices. The registered nurse, functions autonomously, demonstrates professional behavior, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. The Valve Clinic Registered Nurse is involved in education of patients, families, physicians, and staff. This position works closely with a multidisciplinary team including cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, cardiologists, radiologists and other members of the health care team in providing care for the structural heart patients. In addition, he/she will be accountable for tracking identified navigational and quality metrics as well as implementation of interventions to attain and maintain set metrics. 

What qualifications you will need

  • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in nursing preferred
  •  Graduate from an accredited Clinical Nurse Specialist program preferred.
  • Strong Clinical experience – prior cardiovascular experience with clinic oversight preferred
  •  RN with current licensure or with temporary permit to practice from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
  •  Current BLS
  •   Current ACLS
