Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for the delivery of patient care for all clients and their families in a family-centered setting through the nursing process to meet the needs of the new mother and baby, antepartum patient, and gynecology patient during their hospital stay. Responsible for directing, coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Identifies and participates in performance improvement activities and committees. Nursing functions of the Registered Nurse are carried out according to system standards of care, HCA mission statement, and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of a School of Professional Nursing
• 1 year of Post-Partum/Nursery Experience Preferred
• Current license with the Texas State Board of Nursing Examiners or Compact License
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS for the completion of Basic Life Support (CPR) within one week of hire date
• Completion of Neonatal Resuscitation within 6 months of employment
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire date 
• Certification or eligibility to test in Maternal Newborn within 2 years of employment date
• ADN Required, BSN Preferred
