Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for the performance of histological procedures, techniques and processes in a Mohs laboratory, including mounting, embedding, cutting en face sections, and staining using frozen tissue samples from excised skin cancers. Experience within immunohistochemistry would be helpful but is not required. The individual will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, instruments and machines, and maintaining specimen documentation and records.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ASCP HT Certification or equivalent OR 2 years in an ASCP accredited Histology Laboratory .
  • Applicants trained outside of the United States must provide documentation of equivalency evaluation of their education and training to ensure it is equivalent to CLIA requirements.
  • The equivalency evaluations will be performed by a nationally recognized organization.
  • Ex. National Association Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES), the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE). The applicant is responsible for paying the cost of the equivalency evaluation.
