Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible to assist in the performance of complex ablation procedures including the gathering of and assisting in the interpretation of EP specific clinical data and intracardiac measurements (i.e. electrograms and 3-D mapping); functioning in the 1st assistant role during ablation procedures and device implants (pacemakers and ICDs); and acting as a resource to other staff regarding ablative and mapping procedures. The EP Ablation Specialist is responsible for assisting the physician(s) with all diagnostic and complex interventional adult Electrophysiology procedures. Primary clinical roles include scrubbing, circulating and monitoring/recording. The EP Ablation Specialist will possess a minimum five (5) years full-time work experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac electrophysiology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience (2 years).
- Minimum five (5) years full-time work experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac electrophysiology.
- Graduate of a CVT or EPT program.
- Current RCES certification required.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- IBHRE CEPS certification preferred.
