Penn State Health-State College is currently seeking a full time BC/BE core faculty physician for our Family and Community Medicine residency program located in beautiful State College, Centre County, PA (better known as Happy Valley) – home to Penn State University’s main campus. This position is outpatient with regularly scheduled inpatient time as part of the team of inpatient faculty.
Our Family and Community Medicine program strives to provide and train residents to learn time-sensitive acute and chronic primary care that is comprehensive, compassionate, coordinated and high-quality. We provide a safe, cost-effective environment that is patient-centered for the communities we serve.
The selected applicant will join our regional team of more than 50 providers located throughout seven regional practice sites. Our facilities offer a clean, friendly, fast-paced, and busy clinical environment to work amongst a collaborative care team, to include multiple specialty service lines. Our primary regional purpose is to support the healthcare needs of Penn State University covered lives and their dependents. However, as we continue to grow, our reach extends far into the local rural communities as well.
Centre County, Pennsylvania area is filled with history and is a great place to live, work, play, and learn. A thriving college town, State College is a destination for sports, concerts, performing arts, and seasonal festivals. It is centrally located with short distances from major cities like Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York City, and Washington DC. Our regional airport provides multiple daily trips to Philadelphia, Chicago, Newark, Detroit, and Washington, DC.
Job Requirements
- Medical degree - M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent and unrestricted PA medical license
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine Residency program
- Board certification/eligibility in Family Medicine
- Experience in an academic setting preferred
- Ability to enhance and lead resident wellness and behavioral health curriculum
