Job Summary and QualificationsWe are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan to ensure we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. About the Unit:
- 24 beds Surgical Intensive Care Unit
- Patient to Nurse ratio 1-2:1
- Provides care for non-trauma, high acuity medical and surgical patients including interviews such as CABG, Impella, and SLED
- The physicians are highly engaged and provide 24/7 coverage
- 1:1 mentorship with supportive, experienced staff
- Many opportunities and educational resources including national certification support, tuition reimbursement and clinical ladder advancement
- Highly supportive staff that provides numerous education training for new nurses and residents.
- Conducts multidisciplinary rounds with the interdisciplinary team in identifying safe and efficient critical management high acuity acute care.

What You Will Do In Your Role:
- You will consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients.
- You will collaborate with the patient care team to achieve quality patient outcomes
- You will provide communication, confidence, and professionalism as evidenced by active engagement in unit and organizational activities
- You will demonstrate team work, adaptability, and serving as a resource to the patient care team
- You will have accountability for delivering quality nursing care services and for promoting a positive image of nursing
- Those interested in advancement will be invited to participate in our outstanding educational and leadership development programs.
- Manage clinically complex patients with multiple drips, access, and contraptions for critical care management.
- Actively involve and engage in family involvement in the care of critically ill and end of life care.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program required.
- Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse required
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License required(Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required
- At least 1 year of critical care nursing experience preferred
