Position Summary

The Manager, Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring efficient operations of MultiCare Health system’s retail pharmacy program, promoting positive patient experience, and maintaining financial integrity. This is a managerial position working under the direction of the System Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy. Responsibilities include development of relationships with payers and pharmaceutical manufacturers; achievement and maintenance of accreditation for retail pharmacy; and development of complete and robust quality assurance and safety programs and operations that support all aspects of retail pharmacy. Work situations are varied requiring a strong entrepreneurial sense, business acumen, change management, problem solving, decision-making, data analysis, and leadership skills. Internal contacts include all levels of staff and management. External contacts include physicians, clinic leaders and staff, regulatory and accreditation agencies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, competing organizations, vendors and professional organizations. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school or college of Pharmacy
  • Licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Washington
  • MBA, MPH, MHA or Masters degree preferred
  • Successful completion of an Accredited ASHP residency preferred
  • 5 years of retail pharmacy practice experience
  • 3 years in a supervisory or lead capacity

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $158,652.00 - $214,644.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
