8Summary:
To assist pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and staff of Cook Childrens Medical Center and the community we serve. Clerical tasks will encompass answering phones, recording, filing, and reporting pharmacy activities and services. The technical tasks will be performed after experience is gained, and necessary skills and competency demonstrated. Documentation of training must be on file prior to working independently. All tasks will be performed under the direct supervision of an experienced pharmacist. Must be competent in the following pharmacy production areas: Central PO area, compounding, narcotics transactions, Omnicell refills, and compliance audits.
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of math, the metric system, medical terminology and general pharmacy technician skills are essential.
General knowledge of office procedures including general computer skills, filing and recordkeeping.
Good telephone skills and good oral communications are essential.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of six months experience as a technician is required.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern License
ACPE IV Sterile products certification preferred, but not required.
