30Summary:
The NICU Physical Therapist evaluates and provides direct patient care for babies in the NICU with the following disorders: neurological, musculoskeletal, genetic, neuromuscular, respiratory, pain, and developmental as well as traumatic injuries, burn/wound management, and those at risk for developmental delay secondary to severe prematurity. This person provides consultation and programming including patient and caregiver education. This person is responsible for overseeing developmental care of all babies in the NICU, staff and family education/training, referrals and consultations to outside agencies, documentation, participation in weekly NICU rounds, facilitating and planning the Developmental Care Committee, and computer input of all charges. The Physical Therapist will deliver care with a team-orientation, an emphasis on good customer relations, sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice.
Qualifications:
Bachelors required, Masters preferred in Physical Therapy.
Pediatric and/or NICU experience preferred.
CPR - BLS within 30 days of employment required.
State license for Physical Therapy or licensure eligible.
