40Summary:
The Director of Pharmacy has the authority, accountability, and responsibility over the medication-use system, focusing on inpatient and hospital-based clinics. The Director of Pharmacy will ensure that pharmacy staff are optimally positioned and resourced to maintain and improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of medication management and patient outcomes. The Director of Pharmacy oversees and assesses the ever-changing healthcare environment for emerging trends and identifies opportunities to leverage the pharmacy team’s expertise to improve the value of care across the healthcare continuum. The Director of Pharmacy leads the financial performance of the medication-use system by evaluating revenue and expenditure patterns.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting (pediatrics preferred) with increasing responsibility for the management and supervision of pharmacy personnel with emphasis on pharmacy systems, practice management, pharmaceutical logistics and supply chain, clinical and financial (340b) regulatory affairs, pharmacy education programs, pharmacy informatics, and automation technology
- Texas Pharmacist License or eligible (must be obtained within 180 days of employment)
- Knowledge of regulatory laws and standards of practice, such as The Joint Commission and The Institute for Safe Medication Practices
