40Summary:
Performs an analysis of delivery, cleaning, storage, and pick-up of medical devices, equipment and supplies used throughout the main surgery department at Cook Childrens Medical Center (CCMC). Maintains items by tracking equipment in the department and organization of said items. Maintains necessary equipment supplies to meet demands of patient care in the surgery department for patient care. Serves as a liaison for the surgery department and sterile processing as needed.
Education & Experience:
1. High school graduate or equivalent required
2. 1 year of work experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1. Must have a good knowledge of aseptic technique, proper cleaning procedures assembly procedures, OSHA, TJC, safety standards, hospital and departmental policies and procedures, generally as related to the Equipment and Supply Distribution process.
Certification/Licensure:
1. Current BLS certification recognized by AHA required prior to employment if functioning in a patient care area. Employee must maintain applicable certification as outlined above.
2. Advanced training (CRCST, Instrument Tech II, Certified Anesthesia Tech.) preferred.
