Our Community Behavioral Health Center is licensed to 73 beds, carries an average daily census of 69 patients, and has an average length of stay of 5-6 days. Here you will be part of a close-knit all RN unit with Mental Health Workers (who have a CNA background) to assist in the delivery of daily care.

Responsibilities:The Hearings Coordinator serves as a technical administrative expert and coordinates mental health certification review hearings throughout Community Health System (CHS). Ensures accurate and timely delivery of required reports, facilitates hearings, consults with mental health hearing officers, and attends hearings as necessary. Works collaboratively with the Case Management team, providers, and internal/external stakeholders to facilitate efficient and appropriate management of all certification reviews.
This position requires regular travel to various facilities and locations. The ability to travel frequently and adapt to different environments is essential to fulfilling the responsibilities of this role.
- Facilitates mental health certification reviews and hearings, ensuring the appropriate and timely conduct of hearings.
- Reviews all certification review hearing documents, including completed legal forms, medical records, and appropriate background information.
- Maintains current knowledge of California’s Probate Code and Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC), including multiple holds (e.g., 5150, 5250, 5270, 5585, 1799, etc.) and Assembly Bill 2275.
- Acts as a liaison between Community Behavioral Health Center and CHS team members.
- Serves as the designated point of contact for Department of Behavioral Health’s Hearing Officers and Patient Rights Advocates.
- Ensures appropriate patient follow-ups, appeals, and/or discharges are filed in a timely manner.
- Conducts Care Coordinator-Behavioral Health functions to assist with patient care.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field.
Experience
Two years acute Case Management experience within the past 5 years.
Licenses
DL - Valid California Driver's License and driving record acceptable to Community Health System
