- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
- Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in Massachusetts.
- A minimum of 2 years of medical/surgical Nursing experience is preferred. Floating to Main PACU Critical Care experience preferred.
- Related experience required for advanced clinical and specialty areas.

The Registered Professional Nurse maintains the standards of professional nursing practice, and demonstrates competence for patient care through the utilization of the nursing process. The process includes continuous assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating the patient care and patient education. The Registered Nurse directs and guides ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of nursing practice.
Location Specific Description: Emergency Department Mass Eye and Ear Emergency Department: A 24/7 ED caring for Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology emergencies. The RN staff work collaboratively with interns, residents, fellows and attending physicians. Excellent observational skills and the ability to set priorities. Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Operating Rooms and Longwood Mass Eye and Ear Operating Department has 12 rooms in the main OR, 5 rooms Surgicenter, and a 4 room OR Suite at our Longwood location. You are caring for Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology patients. The RN staff work collaboratively with interns, residents, fellows and attending physicians. Excellent observational skills and the ability to set priorities.

- Inpatient Mass Eye and Ear Adult Inpatient Unit: A 24/7 adult unit providing comprehensive care to patients with surgical and/or medical conditions of the eyes, ears, nose and throat. The RN on the adult unit is a key member of the multidisciplinary care team. Has the ability to prioritize and manage the care of complex patients with solid critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. An intermediate care unit exists within this adult unit that provides a higher level of care to patients requiring close hemodynamic and/or neurologic care.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Unit (HBO): Mass Eye and Ear HBO unit is an outpatient unit providing hyperbaric therapy to patients requiring 100% oxygen to treat a variety of conditions such as diabetic non-healing wounds, carbon monoxide poisoning, post radiation ORN and divers.
The HBO unit provides care to patients with emergency HBO needs 24/

Medical Evaluation Center Massachusetts Eye and Ear Medical Evaluation Center: An outpatient department comprised of a team of Medical Hospitalists, Anesthesia Nurse Practitioners and Pre-operative Registered Nurses. The Pre-op Review Nurse evaluates preoperative optimization of scheduled surgical patients via telephone screening calls and by reviewing pertinent clinical documentation. The Pre-op Review Nurse needs to have strong critical-thinking skills, a comprehensive nursing background, and good interpersonal and communication skills.
A minimum of 3 years of medical/surgical Nursing experience is preferred. Membership in a professional nursing organization is desired. PACU/Ambulatory Mass Eye and Ear is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) for a promising position within their perioperative care unit. In this role, the Perianesthesia Care Unit Nurse will process the ability to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and accurately document nursing care for the pre and post-operative surgical patient.
