Key Responsibilities: Clinical Judgment: - Conduct thorough assessments, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care tailored to the population served. - Adhere to policies and clinical practice standards, particularly in emergency situations. - Make informed decisions by integrating formal knowledge with clinical events. - Provide competent, effective care and seek validation for clinical decisions. - Organize and prioritize work to meet patient needs effectively. - Delegate tasks and supervise team members based on their competencies. - Communicate relevant patient data clearly and effectively to the appropriate parties. Systems Thinking: - Utilize available resources to address patient and family needs efficiently. - Complete assignments on time, leveraging resources effectively. - Document patient assessments and interventions as per policies. - Collaborate with the Nurse Manager on resource management within the unit. - Contribute to unit-based programs aimed at enhancing the quality of patient care. Clinical Inquiry: - Stay committed to continuous learning to better serve patients and meet organizational goals. - Implement evidence-based practices and support the clinical education of new staff. - Reflect on and improve care processes at the unit level. - Engage in data collection and evaluation for performance improvement initiatives. Unit-Specific Responsibilities: - Participate in selecting and completing unit-specific competencies. - Understand and articulate nursing-sensitive indicators and quality goals, actively participating in quality improvement efforts.
