Patient Care Associate - Bigelow 14 - Medical unit Bigelow 14 is a 27 bed adult Medical unit located in Boston, MA, USA. The unit is in search of a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Patient Care Associate (PCA) in the Medical Unit. Why This Role Is Important? The PCA plays a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients in the Medical Unit. As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will assist in clinical support functions to promote a safe and compassionate patient care environment. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of patients and their families during critical moments of their healthcare journey. Our dedicated team works on a rotational holiday and weekend schedule, providing 36-40 hours of coverage per week. This allows for a balanced work-life schedule and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care. What are we looking for? We are seeking individuals who are passionate about healthcare and have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others. The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications: - Assisting patients with daily living needs, monitoring vital signs, drawing blood, and acquiring EKGs. - Responding to patient requests in a timely manner while safeguarding patient confidentiality and ensuring patient safety. - Communicating with patients and their families in a respectful and compassionate manner. We welcome applicants with equivalent experience in addition to those with a PCA certification. - Required: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care. - Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR - Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire.
